She had been furious with the whole thing – and in a way her wounded pride and unfulfilled expectation had gotten the better of her, no matter how level-headed the Queen of Obelisk Blue might have usually seemed to others.
So she had slapped him and added accusations of selfishness and lack of interest towards his own dorm-mates.
“All you ever do is talk, Tenjoin?”
He had baited her with quiet menace in his voice – and she had jumped right in, ignoring the feral glint in those golden eyes, remembering only Marufuji silently waiting for a rescue that never came.
